I conveniently mounted a mini tact switch on the back of the controller where I can press it w/my thumb. Then I wired it into the throttle trim switch. Basically I can have my trim set on low for more control and stable turns, but "punch it" in the straight-aways for top speed advantage.

thats tite. im planning on doing that on my rsx, but for now i jus have a toggle knob on the top that is fully adjustable for any amount of boost. it has the same effect as a turbo timer. next i wana get a wireless boost guage on tha top.

Here's some basic info on how to do this. First you will need the following: I recommend a 15-25 watt soldering iron, ).032 solder, a tact switch and very fine wire like 24 or 22 AWG wire. I got the latter from an old cd walkman. Luckily I barely throw out anything I have that breaks 'cause I know I use it for something or other.
Basically you take apart the controller...there are about 13 screws to remove including the steering wheel then there are like 8-10 more holding the circuit board in place...there will be lots of parts so work inside a shoe box or something so you don't lose anything. One you have it all apart you just need to solder two wires to the throttle switch like I have in the Pic (I know it's cheesey but it gets the point accross) and the other ends to the tact switch. Routing the wires is the hardest part it took me a couple tries before the controller would finally shut right. Ya just gotta have patience w/ this stuff. As far as mounting the switch I used a hobby knife to cut out a hole in the back of the controller and put some super glue on the back to hold it in place. After the screws are back in, set your trim to low, break out your car and hit the "NOS" for fast straight-aways!

P.S. Hope this helps ya out...lemme know If any of y'all try this mod!

i really hope you mean a boost controler cos a turbo timer keeps your car running for x amount of time once you turn it off so that the turbo can cool down.

Thanks for the pics on how to wire up the switch for the NOS, but is that all you have to do? Is there more that you have to do besides wiring up the extra batteries and the NOS switch to the controller? How does the wiring of the switch to the throttle trim enable the NOS? Just need those questions asked so I can better understand on how to do this modification. If there are more things to consider besides the wiring, please let me know and also include some drawings or pics. Thanks

If you guys don't know where to get a tact switch or don't know what it is- You can get most of them in TVs. Most of the time they're located on the front-side of TV circut boards. You can just take an old TV you found behind Best Buy and solder out the switch.

Just a thought.

The factor of where to get the switch is not the problem. I can get a switch from radio shack. What I'm asking is how does this all work and what else has to be done besides just wiring the switch if there is anything else? Please post more pics or drawings. Thanks.

Basically the "nos button" just enables you to bypass the hi/lo throttle trim switch with your thumb. I didn't really do anything special to the car. It's still a cool effect when you drive around in low trim, and then w/out having to touch the trim switch on top, it's like you have an instant increase in speed.

do you have to hold that button down to keep it in hi? or do you just press it and let go.

i have a tact switch, but it has 4 prong thingys coming out the bottom, as opposed to the2 in your illustration. which should i use?

yeah, u have to hold the switch in for the effect. thats how i wanted it, you could use a regular on/off switch if you want.
I'm not sure about the 4 contact tact's i suppose that 2 of them are for "normally open" and the others are for "normally closed"
circuits. you want the "normally open" contacts in this case. you can test the contact w/ a multimeter...RS has a pocket sized one for like 25 bucks that has a continuity tester setting which u can use to check the switch among other things. I highly suggest u invest in one...very very useful.

Maybe you should post some pics of your controller dismantled because there are alot of ppl asking questions on how it works.

For the ppl who were looking for a diagram

i put the nos button on my controller, same spot, but what a pain it was. no fun at all but once it was done it was well worth it. first thing i did was smash my front skyline body kit on a medal bench leg. oops that button has been fun tho. great idea!!
