View Full Version : Another weird (?) thing I noticed...

I just installed the AWD on my RSX. Very nice handeling now. I like it very much.
But I notice that the left front wheel has a bit of reduced travel - in fact it seems to be 'preloaded' a bit in that the left front spring is compressed a bit. Anyone else notice this? Do I have something out of kilter or is this a design thing?
I notice also that there is a bit of caster added with the AWD by the new upper A-arms. I wonder how much it would add to turn-in by using the stock yellow upper arms (reducing caster)?
Have fun!

i have a rsx 2. the cars pretty low even when its fine. maybe u need stiffer springs to take care of the new weight on the front.

No, the assembly has the spring compressed. It is not sagging. It almost looks like my upper control arm is molded wrong - the shock mounting point is lower than the other side.
Another hting is the wheels can't fully travel up with the body on - they hit and rub. Maybe that explains why the magazine included with the kit showed the front of the body raised?

i had the same problem with one of the arms that came with the awd kit (limited travel), so i just used the arms that came with the starter kit. works fiine now.

Why didn't I think of that! Did you notice if the castor (the top pivot being more forward or back) is different with the original arms?
Thanks a bunch!

i noticed the increased caster as well. but that increased caster made it difficult for the suspension to move so i replaced it with the original arms. teh rear swing arms taht comes with the kit has very limited travel as well
