This started out as a 1/24 scale Revell model that had been sitting in my desk for 5 years. After cutting more then a 1/4in from the fender and hood it is now a muscle car xmod. So here you go....

Wow, that looks great! A little ole' muscle car flavor. I really need to get off my butt, and do some of these model conversions.

Again, nice work!

these model conversions are fun!! it was a little tricky getting the front clip glued back on. i was left with a gap a few mm wide wich i filled with some model filler, next time i will use epoxy. look at the fender you an see a rough seam, anybody have any ideas how to avoid that? to attach the body i used velcro strips over the battery clips and strips the inside of the body. this has worked well at keeping it on while driving. Thank you for all the feedback, next week i think i might start on a Datsun 510.

p.s. I used boyds spraypaint, it had a cool name "smoothster yellow" :D

maybe you can sand it and paint it again

Hey, I think it looks good, all things considered. I thought about shortening the ZR1 when I put it together, but didn't really feel like undertaking such a task. I didn't even notice that you had done that until I looked closer at the pics...

Datsun 510 would be cool to see as well.. Should be a good fit on the XMods chassis.

Once I finish all of my Corvettes I'll probably do a Mini Cooper. I have the choice between using a 1/24th model or adapting over a Mini-Z body.

i did the same think with an acura integra model except i didnt have to cut as much, the model body's are so much lighter too

I just bought the 1:25 scale Revell Datsun 510. The body is a tad long, maybe 1/4" to 1/2". I have the Skyline kit so the chassis is at its longest. Maybe instead of cutting up the body to avoid the seam, i'm going to try to extend the chassis.

Wow that looks nice. I got the same EXACT car conversion goin on right now. Instead of the front clip that i cut, I cut the doors and the roof. It gives it a smaller "sitting" area on my frame but i'd rather want a longer front than a longer middle. Yet still it looks nice. Ill post my pics once im semi near done it.

ALSO!!! how'd you get that sucker mounted?

It would be awesome if you put a white smoke bomb in the back and took a picture of it. It would look like it is doing a burnout(he he he, scare your neighbors with other colors)

hey, quick question, how's urs secured on the chassis? I've found it an awfully tight fit, and any help would be koo.

i just used velcro over the battery holding clips. it works well, but i do have to re-adjust it if i hit a wall. hope that helps

thanks a bunch, i think that'll do it. i'm still unsure about how the body bends inward naturally...but i'll figure it out.
