does anyone on this site have a lap counter like the one from www.sigmautomotive.com? I was thinking of getting one and i wanted to know how good they work. My buddy and i are the only people around here with bit charGs and we race all the time. Also my car has a 2.6 motor in it, are there any bigger motors out yet?;) thanks

The lap timer is pretty simple and is really best for single person racing. It can't distinguish between cars, so each car will register a lap. It can also be used to do a timed race (5 minutes I think). One of the cool features is the countdown beeps to start the race.

Well, it works with my hand, so it should work with a Mini-Z :D It's just an IR transmitter/receiver and a mirror. When you break the beam, it counts a lap. It does have limited range (track width), but I've heard if you replace the foil reflector with a real mirror, the range is extended. I never really tested what the maximum range is on it.

Also, something that I just thought of...it might interfere with DigiQs and act as a simple IR jammer.

I have one, it's pretty fun, but it's for one person time trials only. You can use them for anything that goes past and breaks the beam. The only thing that might be a concern is if maybe the Mini-Z was too fast for the beam break to register since it's used to BC-G speeds. If you'd like to get one let us know, our prices blow Sigma away - we contacted them to see what they dealer price was, and it was above our retail price!

ViperKid, no problem, that's a good question - the reason is that we weren't sure if we would stock it or not - we can get pretty much any kit or part, even if it's not listed, the listed parts are those that we stock or will be stocking soon.
