So you are saying you threw away a broken XMOD? You could have saved some parts and used it on your other XMODS.

nah, it looks more like thos guys you see driveing down the street with the white or primerd body kits cos they spent all their money on the kit and didnt think to save enough to get it painted. or you know get something useful like an intake or computer upgrade.

well i've gotten a handful of good, mixed, and bad results from my car...so when i can find a matching silver, i might have a stripe down the middle. i would use a silver flame/scallop decal on the side but i think that still leaves it too empty up front.

It's actually not paint its a dye its a harder process then painting IMO you run the risk of melting the plastic or turning out with a funky color so i dont recomend doing it unless you know what you are doing because you can ruin your car.

I just did my friends Scarlet Sunshine orange its bad. Almost wish I would have done mine that color but I still like the dark sleek look of the purple. I will post his later after we take some pics of the cars togther.

hey bc, is that a spoiler from a different bodykit on your rsx, or is it dremeled down to a lower size? Because after taking a nice look, the stock wild spoiler does look a bit, well, wild.

what brand Dye did you use? and what was the temp. of the dye? how did you get the color to be that? did you remove the original paint with brake fluid before you did the dye job?

It is the "Wild" spoiler, and I lowered it and shaved some of the sides.

I really like that red too. I have been trying to paint my cars different colors, but after seeing some of the basic colors on different models, I think I'm going to go that direction.

I will post more angles following this post. By the way this is Tamiya "Mica Red" with a grey Tamyia Primer underneath. I got tired of painting and got a bit lazy and did not put the Clear coat on. I might later. I bought "Mica Blue" for my Skyline but I will paint that when I get more time. This took all weekend to do, trying to make sure I let the paint dry enough. Oh and the wheels, have "Chrome" paint on it, but came out more silver than chrome. Oh well.

They do look like the same color. Mine i used Testors Transparent Candy Red. Just sprayed it striaght on top of the original color. Heres that side pic, and i really dont know why mine is so low, especially wit the stiff springs in the front

oh i stole ur mod i rounded off those wing things on the back of the boddy kit and rounded the nose of my car heres the body kit set up

- mild front (rounded nose)
- mild wing
- wild side skirts
- wild rear(rounded slots/wing thingy)
- sanded door handles
- no head light covers(lost one and it looks better imo)
- one mirror(lost it also, and gives it more of that racey thouch

So i just got my RSX and im trying to decide on a good color to paint it when i get the body kit. I've seen some really nice jobs in red, though i favor blue myself.... Suggestions please????

i saw that someone made a comment about seeing my engine in my secret RSX. so here ya go. though the idea of this was to make people think it was stock.... hense the stage 1 sticker i put on my motor and i took the wire brush attachment on my dremel to the springs to get em back to the stock silver look. still need some color ideas though.....

Anyway, I just finished my second RSX body, same color as the other one, but I learned from my mistakes and didn't end up with any runs or uneven spots in the paint this time. I'm also proud of the fact that no touchups were required at all this time after I removed the masking tape. :D I also went and sprayed four coats of clear over the whole thing as well. Once again, that is Testors Sapphire Blue metallic, and I used Testors clear gloss over the top. Due to the clear being a lacquer and the basecoat being an enamel, I waited 48 hours between spraying the color and spraying the clear. Mirrors are missing, they are actually being "shaved", with the little triangles left over painted gloss black and glued in place.

Xmodracer what programs are you using for your editing? ive got photoshop 6 and love it to death but i couldnt imagine doing something like that in photoshop... im sure it could be done but not as easily as you make it look.

i dont think i got more coats on the bumper, its possible tho, cuz i sprayed em all sepretally. also it is way darker, the pics make it look really pale, tomorrow ill take it oustide in the sun and take pics. u cant tell cuz its in my kitchen with all those bright lights.

is the tutorial for photoshop 7?

1. File>Open Picture that you want preferably one that is on a white background.

[Xmodracer]

2. Then Take your lasso tool from your toolbox anyone you want I like the polygonal lasso tool for this.

3. Then cut out the car with the lasso tool and don’t select the wheels (this might take you a while if you haven’t done it before.


(also notice I didn’t go that tight around the car at the top and in the wheel well that is because the color thing we are going to do dose not detect “Pureeeeeee!!!!!” black and white it detects grays and any color in between)

4. Next notice that the back part of the window has some grays in it we want to deselect those so hold down alt and with you lasso tool go around that part of the window.


I didn’t care about the rest of the window because it is pure black

5. Next You select your color you want from the color pallet.



You get to this by clicking on your color on the bottom of your toolbox.

6. Next you go up to Edit>Fill

7. Next you want to change your setting as seen in the picture.

8. Hit ok then it will change the color of your car to what ever color you selected and if you don’t like it press ctrl z and it will undo the fill and you can select a new color and try it again.

XMODRACER...I tried to email you to thank you but man you got no idea how much your little post has done for me its sad to say but I have been playing with photochop for almost a year I have a real tuner and Im always trying to see what different things will look like so i photochop different car parts onto it and am really good at it only problem is noone has every helped me as far as showing me how to use it and I could never figure out how to change colors man I am so excited can you email me cause i tried to email you but it wouldnt let me its under my profile this is so awsome this may seem stupid to some but its hard to find help for photoshop unless you buy a 100 dollar book and even then you cant understand half the stuff in it. Looking good. Did you put the taillights on the bottom to create underglow?

yeah..I had to use 3 of the light kits and used 2 tail lights on each side, and then the ones on the rear, and then I used the head lights for the frint and the otehr 4 I used them on the rims...so far...the only problem that seems to be going on when I have it this way is that the distance the car goes really goes down..so...for now the car is just for show

get some of the white masking tape and pull the lights back off (depending on how you have them attached) and put the tape on the inside of the body to hide the red light coming through the body panels

My camera is really bad. The paint turned out quite nice, considering I've never masked and painted anything so small. I Also have a 5-cell mod and SBP motor, which helps lots. :D

it was pretty simple i took one of These (http://www.e-glowbiz.com/magstroblig.html) and then just put it inside the car and timed the photos at the right time to get it at the brightest point, its like a dancing neon affected

I was origionally planning on a nice orange but i just couldnt seem to find the right color. So I went with the next best one.... Saphire Blue Metalflake. This car is totally loaded too..... Stage 2 drift, Wheel upgrade, Stiff rear springs, Med front springs, AWD.... the works.:cool:

Here's my Rsx. I dunno if anybody else has done this color yet...i kinda skipped to the last page of this thread. It came out pretty well for my first ever paintjob. Too bad I killed the car. O well, its a pretty model. BTW, the color is Testors Black N Blue Pearl <or blue n black, can't remember>. Lemme know what ya think.
