I am using the RSX model kit, I am using it because of the shape of the body and how on the back end it cuts off and really has no curves, like a CRX! Plus I am doing this because I drive a CRX.

Vtec sucks? Not at all, infact it helps a lot in top end power, for example, my friend and I both have Integra's RS models, and they have EXACTLY the same things done with them, and I have Vtec and he doesn't, and I always pull on him in the end. So to me Vtec is worth having.

vtec almost ( i'm not saying exactly) but almost has the same effect as a turbo. its a little slower at the start but the end result makes up for the initial loss.

Targatop, honda guys talk about engine swaps because they want a better HONDA engine. There not gonna swap out their original engine for another car company's engine.
And the eclipse gsx needs the 200+ horsepower cause witout the turbo, eclipses suck.
But anyways, lets talk about our rc cars seeing as this is a rc car forum

i have a 91 CRX w/ b 16 w/o vtech and my friend has a 90 with an 02 accord v6 w/ vtech. i kill him all the time. vtech might help eventualy but in a 1/8 or 1/4 drag. b 16 kills every time

normally i don't do this. but hell i'm board. so if i act like a 5 year old... ask me if i care. i don't.

first off.. hondas suck. period no ands ifs or buts about it. i have never found anything good about a honda unless you drive an Odessy and have a family of five. thats all a honda is good for. a grocier getter. NO honda owner can say he bought the car and can run in the 14's for under 2 grand. i've got a 89 supra i paid 1500 for and w/ only 500 in repairs, tunning, and system i had it running in the 14's. (i have since done more) no honda can talk about that. you have to swap an engine, or get that Very Technical Extra Crap (VTEC) or go w/ what everyone else figured out worked 16 years ago(they STILL don't come w/ them stock). one of those spooly things that look like a snail. for christ sake you can piece together a WHOLE civic at Autozone. come DOWN to San Antonio ANY fridaynight 410 and starlight you won't miss us. your honda will GLADLY be put in its place by ANYONE out there.

ok well i'll tell you what i'll come up there with my nice little 95 supra and we'll see whats up. and yes vtec does have a reaction time delay just like a turbo does. i would take a crx over your mkIII any day of the week. btw if your going to bash someone for owning a honda make sure you got your facts straight on how things work.

hey guys, is there anyone here that realizes that if they want a lightweight, FWD car with a HUGE modification accesibility, they are better off getting a honda? a huge american mucle car or camaro or whatever is way more expensive, much heavier, and much stronger. so what. they both have their ups and downs, and are both very fun to drive. say you get a civic. you can pick up any magazine and find body kits, engine accesorys, turbos, etc. with no problem. with a firebird/camaro/stronger car, its gonna be a hell of a lot harder to find mods for, but your car may not need them that badly because its already stronger.

what facts DIDN'T i get straight. and congrats on the supra you own. some of us can't afford the 20+g's it would cost for a decent MKIV let alone the insurance. and your comment about a crx over a mkIII makes you a disgrace to the Supra community and should be shot on site. oh bring your supra up here. PLEASE. but if your up to start **** and side w/ a honda. you'll be put in your place quicker then a french **ore.

Yeah a sunfire is a nice car but your not doing an engine swap because your not a racer because if you were you would not have bought a sunfire.

I'm not here to bash just state the facts. I am a Nissan head so take what you will with what I have to say. I am not a big honda fan but I like the crx .It was my first car CYBER racing put a B18a in there(I loved that thing)

yeah its gots its plus's but w/ the age it'll take alot to get it on track and ready for a serious racer. plus don't expect TOOO many after markets at hand for easy upgrading.

a crx has a racing heart? yeah... engine swap means what??? oh yeah switching out the "heart" or engine. so to start w/ it doesn't have a racing heart. the eclipse. (i own a 91 gsx) has 13 years of racing behind their engines the 4g63 and the 4g63T. and the STOCK engine that comes in the eclipse is the same one they use to race and is the SAME engine that is in the 2004 EVO VIII so don't talk about a racing heart. and imports? who was messing w/ them a supra and an Eclipse are BOTH imports. so i wasn't messing w/ imports.

oh yeah.. and hondas suck ;)

I'm just playin' ya'll i ain't here to start **** but i do hate hondas and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

hey racing harts are wheels for one, and everyone has their own take on the import vs domestic issue. My 92 saab 9000 turbo with a race chip and fuel chip has yet to loose to a honda...then again I have 250hp and about 300ftp of tourque

Dont expect too many after markets for a 85-87' corolla GTS? That car carries such a legacy in Japan that there's almost every part you could think of made for it. Cusco, Tein and JIC make all there parts for the ae86 suspension wise, which would make it somewhat track worthy.

as for the honda's suck part... to each their own.

I've been waiting for someone to say that. usually thats the first one you get after the initial flaming. yeah there are parts for the AE86/Corolla/Trueno/Panda/etc. but not as redily available as it would be for a civic (YES I MADE A POSITIVE COMMENT ABOUT A HONDA) there are parts out there for any car its just a matter of getting them. and like you said thats in the JDM where those parts are readily available. most your local speed shops won't carry it. and will mostly be ordered from the web and most are imported from japan hence the JDM.

you all make me laugh with your arguing, just for the record, i owned an mk3 supra(90), thing was a beast and quite gutsy but found myslef replacing lots of parts, all your pulling is 14's and your talking **** about, i hate to break it to you but 14's are not fast. ive also owned a gsx eclipse(96), and my crx when it was stock would kill this car the, ive also owned a gst eclipse(90) and this i would have to say in stock form was faster than the rest.
Oh and its Vtec, not vtech, and it is nothing at all near comparible to turbo, complete oppisite.
Oh and targa i will guarentee that my crx the way it sits now will rape your supra.

my honda runs 10's....and its stock.....who wants to run?...lol(im serious)....and as for vtec... its not like turbo.... its a seperate set of lobes on the cam shafts that are engaged at a certain rpm and oil pressure.....like having 2 seperate sets of cams!!....theres no lag like a turbo...the power is always there, providing the revs are up....then again..who needs cams anyway?... "the 7 cant lose!"...........................

i said i had it running 14s after just getting the car if you read it i then go on to say i've done more since. as for the gsx mine is a first gen. (never could stand the second gens.) and there is no stock crx that would hold its own against EITHER of those car unless you have an idiot driver at the wheel.

wow, im lovin that CRX! my brother has a 91 CRX dx, and that thing is awesome! did you have to shorten the body to fit on the xmod chassis? if so where did you cut?

Pretty Neat. I built that Fujimi (sp?) model kit once also lol.
I drive a supercharged CRX, I wish they had an XMod body you could buy of one. I just bought an RSX Type-S a couple months ago so at least they have that =)
Im coming from racing 1/24 scale slot cars...so being able to actually turn is a new thing for me lol. I bought the RSX XMod yesterday with the lightkit just for starters and its really fun!

colin4371, the crx fits the xmod with no cutting to the body you have to use the long setting(supra,skyline and civic) I bought carbon fiber drive shafts since I have the rsx body.

Tron, yeah supercharged that's pretty tight my last crx had a b18c swap which was pretty cool. yeah xmods aren't bad for the price.

miniDRIFTER, The 350z is mounted on a miniz and those rims are "square inch up" rims they are aluminum rims too.
