Also, How does the xmod compare with the mini z?

My RC Brothers & Sisters,
I am in near perfection on the Stage 10. I've been running my prototype since last Friday. But, I want to push it to the limit so that Xmod Racers who buy my motor will blow their competition by surprise. Let's just say that they're gonna wanna ask you what the hell is under your hood?
The first motor I will make will either be auctioned off, starting at only .99 Centz!! OR, I might have a contest!!! Stay tuned.

yeaaaah - is a fet upgrade necessary - i was already thinking about just taking the stock armature and sticking it in a neo case with ball bearings - same amount of turns just more effiecient
i sent my overland to nml's to get a FET upgrade - awesome even with a mild motor

I think you guys maybe referring to Myster E's fet upgrade services.
www. mini z tuner. com
My specialty is in high performance motors. I did a little bit of fet upgrading myself, but I've decided to withdraw from it.
Regarding Videos, My biggest apologies, for I don't really have access to a DV camcorder. I will see if a friend would be able to help me out with some serious drifting footage in an asphalt parking lot!
I will make it available as early as Sunday, and it will be auctioned off.
I also plan to auction off a brand new, upgraded with 4wd, and bearings, that I will guarantee to be a sleeper Xmod. Your buddy will be like, "Woah! What the?
I don't want to overhype this, but when I put it on e bay, I can only say that the buyer will be in awe.

yeah myster e
so what about an xmod FET upgrade? was it neccessary? i notice alot of heat on the bottom of my car where the stock fet is and im using the stage 2 kit
MicroRCEngineering
10-25-2003, 05:25 PM
I believe Myster E is already looking into the possibility of upgrading the fets on the esc.
I meant to add on the previous post that Myster E is beyond excellent in what he does, which is why we got together to form Fuzion, so that we can offer other Mini z enthusiasts the best upgrade their money can buy.
Final: Tomorrow will be the day I will auction off a fully modded Xmod. This is one Xmod you'd want to put your money on. If you bet your friends for a drag race, I hate to say it, but your friends will hate you.

$130 is the price for the Xmod with the stage 10 motor, which doesnt sound too high for a flying Xmod :D

Heh, maybe I should read a lil , right.:p
To my defense it's pretty damn early here and I've only had 1 cup of coffee yet.
Lets break this down here.
You get an xmod
the awd kit
the bearings
THE MOTOR
drifting kit (?)
Yup it's a good deal at $130, doubt it'll stay at that price though.
I'ld still like to get my hands on just the motor.
Any chance of that NML?

Don't waste your time on that, bro.
Sorry for not being able to reply. I've been getting emails in the hundreds.
Here's an update:
The motor I made last week, was focused on the 4wd tranny, so that drifting will be made easy. Power? Of course, more power than Stage 2.
I am now focusing on a motor for the 2wd tranny. Unfortunately, in electric cars, there is always a compromise. This will have more top speed, compared to the 4wd motor.
Because I've used all of my motor supplies for the SSV.2 motors for the Mini Zs, I will have to take pre-orders.
I haven't decided on the price yet, but I will post it this coming week.

I'm also continously coming with new designs, which is another reason why I haven't introduced it yet to the public. My apologies for saying that it was going out last Sunday. But, I'd rather delay than give people my second best. When I introduce it, it means that it's the best motor I can possibly make for the Xmod. If I can do it with the Mini Z's, I can do it with the Xmods. I ask for your patience, guys. Thanks in advance.

GOOD & EXCITING News!!
I wanted to make sure that all my bases are covered, so I tried all mini Zmotors including my SSV.2's. I also tried Tamiya armatures, which I will explain later.
Let's just say, leave the Mini Z & Tamiya motors where they belong.
There are some motors for the Mini Z that is a tad bit better than the Stage 2, but as always, I want to make sure that whatever I come up with, it is always something better than what's available.
Basically, it's for those who want the absolute. We did a test run today, and I can only tell you guys that the Stage10 will blow your mind away!!
It is wicked! You will need to run it in a big area, for the motor just doesnt seem to top out, BUT acceleration is more than excellent. Tests were done with Stage 2 Yellow Gears, which is the 10 tooth pinion. This is slightly above mid level, in terms of gear ratio.
The difference is like a car going 90 mph, with no more RPM to give, engine about to blow, and here's stage 10, not even at the top gear, ZOOMING BY!
Videos will soon be available as living proof that NML Motors will always stand above the rest. Please go to www.xmodworld.com for vids, coming soon!!!
Also, please note that the motors I make are intended for 4wd. This is 4wd, guys, and there's a lot more resistance due to the added gears on the front, but the speed, you just have to see for yourself.
I will make 5 motors this week. First come first serve. PLUS, you get tips on how to make your Xmod FLY!!
First 47.00 takes the following: Handwound motor, drift kit, and a special surprise for both you and the racer next to you. Let's just say he won't know who or what he's up against. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Same here.
I would like to see a video of this motor in action though. It would be nice to see what I'm getting.
The only video I've seen so far is of a hatchback with a AAbat mod.
i think he misinterpreted that video for one with the nml motor in the car. that would explain why he's not too impressed with it since aa batts wont make the car run faster...just longer.

What? AA batts have more volts right? So more volts = more speed.
aa batts and aaa batts are both 1.5 volts...aa batts have more capacity = more run time.
catman25
11-04-2003, 11:11 AM
nihm recharges have 1.2
3series takumi
11-04-2003, 01:24 PM
aa have a higher amp rating than aaa. volt x amp = current. the total current runs the car so aa should be faster than aaa
Originally posted by catman25

so their charge is the same.
and for the other post...the different between them is ampere-hour capacity. the higher it is, the longer it runs. that's why a lot of things take both aa and aaa batteries cuz the difference is just the duration of it. i'm looking at this chart thing from batterieswholesale and it's telling me this. also, aa batteries weigh more so it would slow the car down. u can also refer to other batteries such as the nimahs from toyeast for bit char-g's. it only gives longer run times and does not make ur car go faster. which is why when i run my bits with a 100mah nimah battery it is as fast as a 200mah battery.

11-04-2003, 03:54 PM
mmmm, i see... and here i was thinking about putting 4 aa's in my xmod, like a sucker :\
3series takumi
11-04-2003, 03:54 PM
im not talkin about the mAh rating, i know thats capacity. i am talkin about actual output bud. if you have ever ran a micro rs4 on 5aaa then on 5aa you can easily see that it will run faster with the aa cells if you run with 5 a cells it will be way faster than the aa or aaa cells. cause the internal amp output is different on all the cell types (not the mAh). most r/c cells have the capacity as well as the amp output. aaa and aa usually dont.
3series takumi
11-04-2003, 03:57 PM
also, i tested my rs aaa cells and they are puttin 8amps out. my aa are puttin 12amps and the 2/3a cells (i havent tested) claim that they will put out 30amp with no drop on load
ooo u mean the discharge rate. my bad, yea it discharges faster but then u need a higher torque motor since they weigh a lot more than aaa batteries. the discharge is 3 times faster or around like 20 minutes but it is not that helpful in an xmod cuz it disrupts the balance in the car. might cause the wheels to dip.
but i might get 1/3 aaa batteries instead but i dunno if the board can take it

He got back to me yesterday and everything is cool. he seems like a nice guy who is just getting too many request for this powerhouse.
well look at it his way sess, look at how many people have been interested in his motor on this board alone. not to mention other boards. also remember this is just an xmod motor. like he said, he makes mini-z motors, and a lot of mini z accessories so if he gets like 50 emails from this board alone regarding xmod motors, he probably gets even more regarding mini-z's. he said he had to get some set up thing to sell to this overseas buyer. apparently that buyer is flying in to pick em up (so obviously it's a huge order if they gonna spend on a plane ticket to pick it up) so he probably spent a lot of time setting that up too. i dunno about u but i'd rather he make the motor and tell after he sends it out than him just telling me he's going to make it but not actually make it cuz he has 1000000 emails to reply to. he also replies to me. i posted on the msg board once and he emailed me back with a personal response. albeit a few days later but at this point i dont really care...as long as i get the motor and the whole package cuz i'm one of the first 5. he said he's mailing everything out tomorrow cuz today is veterans day and post office is closed.
EDIT: o yea he mentioned something about checking all orders and issuing them based on the order the money came to him in. so i think he's trying to get all of the first 5 orders in first before he sends it out. that would help him keep track of who gets the special package deal and who doesnt since he said only the first 5 do. if that is the case, my bad cuz i sent money order which took a longer time to get to him. he has it now so there shouldnt be much more of a problem.

I got one word for it. Wow.... I disassembled a stage two motor (RIP) for the 11 tooth and the connector. I got it together last night and after a few tweaks got it running. The thing is so fast that i destroyed my stock front end. the drawback is that it does have a little lag and eats the batteries like no other. tonight I am going to try to compensate by connecting the 6 cell mod with it. Could anyone tell me the best way to get the pinions off?
Please let me know ASAP!!!

11-25-2003, 08:11 AM
Theres a few things you can do....
A. Buy a pinion puller
B. try to find a pick that will fit the diamieter of the hole, find two pieces of metal and post them between the pinion and the motor, then just hammer out the pinion with the pick and a small hammer.
C. super heat the pinion, since brass heats faster it should expand and come off. Be careful not to burn yourself when taking off the pinion.
