Shingle track?

Anybody ever thought of using roof shingles for a track? It would almost be like a tar track---and they are easy to cut. What do you guys think.

It might be a bit rough - the tar paper used in roofing is probably better.

roof shingles's surface have many small particles (hence the terrific traction). but these small particles that comes off easily, so it might damage car components (screwing up the engine)
