I never like to buy something thaT YOU can do your self so im testing the little jack and have come up with this info.

with the front of the car facing this way

front<--------batt.--------->rear.

you have the following prongs.(or metal spikes as you will)

! ! ! !
1 2 3 4

i Have found number 3 is negative all the rest pull some sort of current and are +

! ! ! !
+ + - +

So With the controller lets see what is going on.

With 3 and 4 (4 being positive) it lights the led and when gas or brake is used it brightens the led.Just looking at the board that comes with the lighting setup i can test that they are just resiters.Unless there is a hidden ecm which i doubt.

2 and 3 (2 being pos.) lights the leds and when gas or brake is given it reduces the current.

1 and 3 light the led and when gas or brake is applied to ends the current(meaning no light )

so for my mod im gonna go with the 3 and 4 setup just to haVE HEADLIGHTS.
The only reason im doing this is to use my own leds. This car is about modding so iu hope this helps other mod the heck outa thier lights.

With lights off And this last one is looking straight on.
These leds have a tight angle giving it a hid effect.Halagens spread the light but hid are a bolt of light that is spread by reflected casing. These leds are also uv in properties meaning. They look to have a haze on them like you cant focus on them and they have blacklight properties.i hope to fit these in and show off everything soon.My wife hates me right now.It seems you can safly use 2 leds on 3+4 prong without heating them up too much. One led gets hot so a resister is needed.2 splits the current and is at a safe 3.71- volts.
Any comments?

Well my mod is done.I was wrong bout the voltage. If you run 3+4 you get 5.50 volts using non-rechargable batts. And using 2 leds only dropped it to 4.41 volts so still a lil over the rated 3.71 volts.so i put a small resister and currently running at 3.21 volts .little low so these pics show not full brightness.Which youll see they are bright enough. All the messing i had to do with the body was use my solder tip and make a free a little extyra plastic to fit the larger 5mm leds. You cant tell and it doesnt impair anything.here's the pics.

This one is full room lights on

next mod consists of using a extra battery.and making it rechargable from the car .

Do you think that the car puts out enough power to run dual headlights and dual taillights? (total of 8 LEDs)
Out of curiosity, I plugged in the zip zap se body I have- No lights, but the plug did fit. It probably put out too much power.

unless the batts are freshly recharged nihm when you give it gas they dim.i cant tell a differance in speed with the lights off but they do dim.Fresh batts dont dim so you can probally use it as a guuide when batts are getting worn.

i think the SE's light kits are jus different pinouts. im' sure at least two of the pins are correct, just needs to be re-arranged

how well do the led's lgith up the ground? does teh holes for the led's aim it up, straight ahead, or down?
