OK I got my XMOD (Nissan), they are great I love that the controller can be changed to allow micro steering changes. Im not really sure I like the breaking feature though, It makes it hard to do tricks.
Mods here is what i see.
Springs/Shocks - Stock seem good very little travel in the front, I dont think that I will waiste any money here.. Also back wheels are two point and give you the Honda look if dropped /---\
Wheels - I found an ok selection like 8 total different ones coutning the origionals, I did like the others.
Wheel base - can be adjusted 3 ways between the fron and rear wheels.
Drive train - Bearing upgrade not needed for averge useder but great addon - In addition a four wheel drive upgrade nicely done keep all wheel still independent.
Motors and gears - Im not ready for these just yet ( Im mostly an indoor driver and speed kills) Good news is for the fast cars the Controller has a switich to allow slower driving.
From what I see you can have 6 different cars racing at the same time by simply changing an external crystal, I wonder if you can add your own crystals?
Tires - Soft, Hard, treaded, and sponge. Stock tires are slicks and work pretty good.
And finally Lights - I was dissapointed by this feature!!!!!!!!!! The head lights are on dimly and get brighter when you move, break lights seem the same. There is a four pin connector on the top of the car I believe that the lights plug into, Im planning of making my own lights to allw a more realistic setup - Also just as a side note the cars are fully ready to add lights no drilling needed.
Soon I will have pics of my custom body. I own a 96 Mazda Miata and have forever wanted a RC Miata - This is probably the only reason that i blew 50 bucks on my XMOD. To make the body I took a Revell model that I never built and it fit perfectly on top, wheel base. Thie car will rest on the back dash and it is the perfect hight to mount the origional mounting hardware. The front was a little harder I had to custom make a knoch to accept the frame. When finished I will have a Custom RED Miata with 17's Just like mine - Still looking for matching rims!!!
