Looked at the RS site for Canada.
No sign of the Zip Zap SEs.
Anyone know of a place to find these things for us Canadians?? They seem really cool!

If you live somewhat close to the border, you could just go on a road trip to Niagra Falls and then go to some Radio Shack store.
I'm going next weekend.

If you dont live near the border or if you dont know anyone in the USA, then your best chance of getting a zip zap SE is to try ebay.

My Zip Zap SE Mustang arrived today and I must say I am impressed. Digitally Proportioned Steering AND Throttle!!! I love it!
The only downside is it looks harder to lower the car with all the stuff wedged between chassis and body.

I've been looking at the RS Canada Site and SE's are coming at the end of summer, I have mine because i went on a trip to disneyland. I would die for 2 more SE's so i can race my friends

They have them now, but not all of the stores stock them yet. 2 of the 3 stores I went into have them. I picked mine up and some accesory kits, and it's pretty slick. Just uses a stepper motor for the propo steering, so it's nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done.
Have all the gearsets now, and just missing the purple motor. Being a car guy (the big things), I need to mod the guts on this thing. Glad a friend of mine pointed me to this site!:D

How are the steering issues for you Canadians? I mean, do the Initial D cars they have in stock up there stutter and have uneven steps on each side? I was wondering as the new cars in the US seem to be fixed. I hope they are sending the improved chassis to Canada and not dumping the old ones on you.

I haven't noticed anything strange. The stepper motor seems to be pretty even and as smooth as it can be. I'm not sure what the "Initial D" thing is though.

i have the chassis from america. i got it back in january. i got 2 of my colleagues to buy the SE's that finally came out here (N.B.)
i used both of theirs, but only for a short while. they definitely have more steps than mine. i have 4 on one side (first 2 steps are super close, i dont even really consider it a step) and the other side has 1 step. now, maybe thats just because its old or something....
their cars are pretty good. one has decent propo, stutters at times (initial D). the other doesnt stutter and is only uneven by like 1 step (red mustang concept).

Does anyone know what model numbers were good for their cars and stuff? I'm looking at getting one and would like to know what is safe. Thanks

after reading several posts about serial numbers good vrs bad etc. I think that when radio shack contracted whatever cant rember name of company to build them they started producing crap cars everywhere and refuse to take them off the shelves. obviuosly slowly they fix their mistakes and continue to to build same models same serial #'s, i have recently purchaed about 25 zip zaps and zip zaps se and found all of the problems that had been listed eariler by other experienced memebers how ever i nboticed that i could buy the same model say an Intitial D rx7 one month later on a new shipment and have a completely different car. third green wire etc. good stepping either way usually 5 or 6
etc. so i think what you need to do is find a store that sels alot of them to avoid getting old stock. as also i have noticed i have never found a version 1 controller for an ZZ in canada and as well as never an old pcb on a Zz here. I would argue that radioshack america pulls crap off the shelves in the states and sends it here were not that stupid, i return a **** product all the same, and we recieve all of the same models a year after you, waiting for my mercedes SE euro kit. any one want to send it to me. funniest is when i noticed Audi se had been retired at zipzaps.com and Canada got a hole shipment of them as in thousands of audi's months later.
