Would I need any special adapters or would I have to make any modifications to match the Novak SPY wiring with the mini-x
receiver plugs? Or is this a direct fit.

Thanks. I figured it was plug and play. Now I just hope fitting the mini-x servo
to the kawada mid will be easy.

I was able to get the mini-x servo to work but it has to stand upright. You also have to remove the arm and rotate it to the bottom. However, because it's so skinny sitting upright, two sided tape just does'nt make it stable enough.
I may get the Hitec-81 metal gear servo. If anyone knows of a better servo that would fit well, please let me know.

Here's a pic of my Mid Mustang project. I've got a lot left to do, besides just painting it. It took some time to fit the body, but the mounting system worked great. It's a Shelby GT 350H.
I'm running the Orion Elite stock and SPY ESC. I'm very pleased with the performance and speed. I was using the Mini-x receiver and servo, but I'm going to sell the Mini-x RTR.
It has full bearings, foams, and the ball diff. I believe I'm going to
paint it black, with maybe silver stripes.

What servo do you use with your Kawada mid?
I haven't made up my mind between a Hitec 50 to 81 size
or a Cirus CS-26bb, which seems to fit well in Akura's mid.
Thanks
