hello im already a big bit char-g fan and i was wondering aobuit how epochs compare to mini-zs as we all know christman is coming so i was wondering what is worth getting i want the one that is faster and easier to up grade and the one that will impess more people

Well, the Mini-Z is faster and has more hop-ups, but it depends where you plan on running it. If you have a smaller space, the Epoch is a great little car.

That would be the Mini-Z. It's definitely faster, there's PLENTY of upgrades and LOTS of ways to impress people with it.
The Epoch is a cool car too, don't get me wrong. I have 2 Epoch (Spec2) cars and love them...But if your priority is what you stated above, go with the Mini-Z

Something I was wondering about the Epoch cars...the series 1 cars seem to sit high on the chassis where the series 2 don't. Is this correctible, ie can the body be lowered on the series 1. Of course I suppose I could just put the series1 body on the series 2 chassis.

Sorry, this is an incorrect observation. It's all about wheel wells dude:D ! The Spec1's have huge wheel wells.
Of course I suppose I could just put the series1 body on the series 2 chassis.
I have done this BUT not for the reason described, I did this for increased wheelbase equalling more stability. AND, no the wheel wells of the Series 1 are STILL huge so the car look the same. Would you like me to post some pics comparing wheel well sizes form the Spec 1 to Spec 2 ?

Asmenoth,
I have made a new thread specifically illustrating the differences in the fender gap between the Spec 1 and Spec 2 cars HERE (http://tinyrc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1630&perpage=15&pagenumber=1)
I suggest you check it out :D !!

Wow, that's a heck of a gap. It almost looks as if the wheels on the spec 1s are too small and it really looks bad on the Speed Racer cars. That's cool, when I get some of these, I will still get some of the Spec 1 cars...I really like the bodies outta that set, wheel well gap or not.
Thanks for the info.

There are various pictures through out this fourm showing a Mini-Z in comparison with all sorts of different cars.
The easiest place to look is Tiny RC's Gallery (http://tinyrc.com/gallery/trcsize)
What exactly are you looking for here, measurments, turning radius?
This IS the Epoch fourm, if you want in depth discussion on Mini-Z's please go here http://mini-zracer.com (http://mini-zracer.com/)

You said that an Epoch is a smaller car. Can you comfortably race two Epochs on a track with 12 inch lanes with wide turns?
Diego

It's a little tight, 12" wide track, for the Epochs, but it's doable. I run 2 Epochs in my Bit Char-g modular track with 10 1/2" lane.

Hey Diego, what do you think would be the optimum width for a track to race the Epoch's. I think I read somewhere that 24'' was a good size. A fair sized track with lanes that wide would take up quite a bit of space (probably us 2 or 3 sheets of plywood), wouldn't it? Please let me know what you think.

gertman, can u please post a pic of a spec 2 body on your speed racer, i ordered the speed racer set and im going to be putting a spec 2 body on it, im also getting spec 2 wheel sets soon to put on the speed racer set if its possible, i heard that the wheels were not removable on a spec 1, is this true, if so i think itll look really funny with a nice Legacy or WRX body on the speed racer with the stock wheels...???

Sorry no can do for two reasons:
1. Don't have my digital camera at the moment
2. Depending on what Spec 2 body you are referring to, it won't fit!!! I know for a fact that the Subaru WRC one will not. :(

Also,
In answer to your other question:
i heard that the wheels were not removable on a spec 1
That is absolutly FALSE!!! They come on and off the same way on both Spec 1's and Spec 2's.
Please post what thread you read this in so I may correct this.:)

You can't adjust the wheelbase on a Spec 1.....the Subaru is too short. aka wheel wells don't match up.:(
