It seems like I am going to have to buy a new receiver as my Hitec feather is too large for my current truck, I will save it for another model.
That means I will probably end up buying a JST mini receiver but I am concerned as to whether it will work with my JR transmitter. Does anyone have any experience of using them with JR equipment? I have two models, a JR Apex and a JR X756 both 40MHz. Will I have to buy a mini crystal to go with this or will my current ones work?
Your help would be appreciated.

Oh I forgot another question, do the sockets on the RX take standard servo J-type plugs or do you need to buy extra ones they look from the pictures like they are smaller?

Thanks for pointing that out Killer.
FM receiver required and current Xtals can be used but I may need make an adapter - I already have Xtal extension cables.
I came across some small plugs on TTTT parts which I guess are to go with the RX.

:ö: about the plug thing, in my own opinion, it's your option, if you want to use it or not, if you plan to use the plug, the advantage is see here is; you can use your rx, servo etal, on other kits, and replacing parts like servo and esc is easy, but the downside is, the plug itself takes up space on your truck plus the wire, with a limited space for your electronics to fit inside a 1/87 or smaller scale truck, space is quite an issue now, but if hardwire your electronics on your rx, you'll notice a big difference compared with the plugs and connectors on it.
