I know it's a grip, but it's well worth it. It adds another 15 - 25 % more speed. Makes runs smoother too. Less wear and tear on the Axles.

micromotori, can you list the bearing requirements, we're working with BOCA Bearings to develop kits for each tiny RC.

for the SP, it is 3x6 mm flanged. I don't know about the X4's. I think they're the same.

Bit Char-G, hehe. Those'd be some dang small bearings. Be better off with bushings!

NO,
The x-4 does not use ANY flange bearings. I think there are two different sizes. One of them (I think the 2 for the drive shaft are the same as the front wheels on a Mini Z)

Just finished putting together my X4.
front diff: 3x6 unflanged
rear diff: 3x6 unflanged
front knuckle arms: 3x6 unflanged, 4 total
center shaft: 2x6 unflanged, 2 total
rear shaft: 3x6 unflanged, 2 total
front shaft: 3x6 unflanged, 2 total
Great car, any idea when bearing kit will be available?

Yes, I'd like to know too. cause the ABC bearings cost pretty steep IMO.
I also hope TRC will also carry more ABC DTM SP stock and mod-up parts and not just the car kit itself. I'm very interested in this car, but I don't want to invest in a r/c car whose parts are hard to find and expensive.

Coming very soon! Keep in mind too that we can source pretty much any item, so even if you don't see it in the shop, we can always special order it for you.

TinyRC, any update on the BOCA bearing sets yet?

why not just buy then without a all in one kit. Buy then indiv some times its cheaper. I never buy compete bearing kits anymore.

Usually it's more expensive to put your own set together. We're skipping BOCA at this point as the prices they gave us were insane. We're going directly to the factories now, BOCA just resells foreign-made bearings. We'll keep you posted.

It's more expensive if you buy the bearings from the hobby store with the ABC brand, or the BOCA brand or whatever brand. I ppicked up the phone book and found the local distributor of nothing but bearings. They told me they would have to order them in(since they are so small), but that it would only cost me around $15. (yes, for all 7)

Not really tiny, it does seem so, but I done this for years. ANd I get a few extras when the a few bearsing goes bad. It just depends on how much people value money.

woody,
You're in Denver, aren't you? What bearing supplier did you call?

Sorry but I'm not familiar with bearing spec, and so I'd like to ask a few more questions:
3x6mm flanged is all we need to specify on all 7 bearings when we order from a local store? I suppose 3mm is the inner and 6mm is the outter diameter, but will I need to specify the thickness of each bearing too?
Thanks for any help.

You shouldn't need to specify thickness. A 3mm x 6mm bearing will most likely have a thickness of 2.5mm, flanged or unflanged.
If you find a supplier, let us know.

Hi fabpro(doug right?). I had to special order the bearings from a bearing place here in Denver. So, if you want, I ordered enough to do 3 cars. That would be 28. I'll give some to you if you want to work something out. I didn't even know you had one of these cars. Will you be racing at the hobbytown in green mountain? Or will you be racing your micro at the new westminster location?

Woody,
You know who I am. I not sure who you are. My racing plans are up in the air. I'd be interested in knowing if there is going to be any 1/24 scale racing this year. What have you heard? I really enjoyed Tamtech racing back in the day. I sold the DTM sp that I had when we started racing Micros. I might pick up another if there is any racing. The bearings I'm looking for are for the 1/18 scale pan car project that I started last spring before we stopped racing at Terry's. Do you have a "per bearing" price?
woody

Well, I know that they are for sure going to race DTM's at the Green Mountain hobbytown. I also know that plans are to run 1/10, 1/12, and 1/18 at the new hobbytown location in Westminster. I've been racing my HPI micro at the track in Colorado Springs. NOw, price per bearing would be just under $2 a piece. How many do you need? I still don't have them yet, but they are paid for and coming.
Fabpro

I could use 8. If you don't want to spare that many, 4 would get me started.
You mentioned that you ordered 28 bearings and that was enough for 3 cars. 9 per car with an extra?
woody

Yeah, my math was wrong. 21 is what I meant. DOn't know whatthe hell Iwas thinking. I'll let you klnow when they get here. I should be able to do 8 since I only have one car.:D
BTW, since your are a "fabpro" and all, would you be willing to trade some work for the bearings? I have some bearings I need stuffed into a speed 300 motor. they are really little and I already wrecked a set with some 14 inch channel locks, trying to get them pressed in.
Fabpro

We could probably work that out. Bearings in a Speed 300? Not fast enough for ya?
woody

I've got your bearings. Let me know when would be a good time to get them to you.

This weekend would work. Do you want to meet somewhere?
woody
09-14-2002, 11:52 AM
Maybe Sunday, I'll be in Colorado Springs all day today. If not on Sunday, then I'll bring you everything to where ever YOU want to meet on Monday. Where are you close to? I live in Lakewood. Also, I found out that HPI micros will be part of the agenda for this winter's racing at the hobbytown in Lakewood.

I talked to Lakewood Hobbytown about their racing schedule for the DTM's and Micros. It sounds like they will be racing on Saturday afternoon starting in about a month. I think I'll take a wait and see attitude. Saturday may not be a good day for me to race on. We'll see.
I'm in Edgewater, so we're close to one another. The forum admin. doesn't allow private messages, so send me an e-mail and we can decide where to meet. My e-mail is 4machining@attbi.com.
